Web accessibility means that people with disabilities can use the Web. More specifically, Web accessibility means that people with disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with the Web, and that they can contribute to the Web. (Introduction to Web Accessibility, 2005)
The internet allows all people to have equal access and opportunity to interact and seek information. It is vital everyone, including those with disabilities have the same opportunities. Therefore it is essential that websites are supportive of all site users. If a website doesn’t enable equal access and accessibility it will be placing those people with a disability at a disadvantage and could prevent them from using the site all together.
